Decongestants have worked!

My walking has been cramped this week by a nasty cold and sinus problems. Finally this afternoon my sinus medicine kicked in and I was able to head to my moms to visit and of course to walk. Felt good getting back out there and I could breathe.. sort of.  It was pretty warm and my feet felt great in my new sneakers. Hoping I can walk farther without sinus problems tomorrow too. Here is today's walk on Runkeeper.

Tshirts

Leslie designed this awesome tshirt logo for the 3-Day.  We are going to try to sell shirts to fund raise as a team and get us to our goals for the 3-Day.  It is soooo exciting! Please email me if you would like to purchase one!

New Sneakers and a milestone!

So I went to Foot Solutions and had them do a foot analysis yesterday. Turns out  my feet are not "normal". hahaha That wasn't surprising.  I am hoping the new Brooks brand sneakers I have will help my feet not cramp up after 5 miles.  I reached a fundraising milestone today and hit $500!  Only $1800 left to go!  Thanks so much to my Uncle Bob and Aunt Phyllis for their donation today!

Cloudy Skies and Creepy Paths

The goal for yesterday's walk was 5miles but I made it 4.79 after walking with wet shoes and being startled by a dead cat and a LONG creepy trail at the beginning. Funny how dark clouds can make you feel like you are in the middle of no where even though you have houses right on the other side of the wall from you. I had to walk the long way around on this walk because of flooded washes and I still managed to get my feet wet crossing a small shallow portion of the back community wash near the canal. Not a fun walk but I was still glad to get the miles in. New shoes were purchased today. I found out I have flatter feet and am an overpronator. Learn something everyday. :) You can view yesterday's walk here... http://bit.ly/9X78yU

Thanks so everyone who donated over the weekend. A friend of mine is donating $100 worth of Avon products to raffle towards the walk so details will be coming soon!

Why?

So why am I walking this year in the Arizona 3-Day?

A friend of my family/neighbor of my mom's and a former co-worker of mine were diagnosed with Breast Cancer in the last year and I just felt like I needed to take this on, for Kathy, Alice, and for many of our friends, including Karen M., now a 6 year survivor, that have fought or are fighting breast cancer. This walk will be in memory of Granny and in celebration of all our friends that are fighting Breast Cancer or have fought and won!
